Specialist in Hand Painted Kitchen Furniture Throughout Chichester & Petworth

Give Your Kitchen a Makeover

SSM Decorating is experienced in hand-painting kitchen furniture, in particular new bespoke kitchen furniture. I have the skills and experience in hand painting both new bespoke kitchen furniture and older bespoke kitchen furniture renovation projects of all types.

If you are looking at your kitchen and wondering if it can be hand-painted and refurbished then the answer is yes it can! I regularly paint both brand new kitchens and older kitchen units and cupboards. If you are happy with the quality and layout of your existing kitchen but you want to give it a facelift and a fresh new look I will apply a flawless hand painted finish in literally any colour you choose, giving you a new kitchen without the expense and disruption of having a new kitchen fitted.

How do i know if my Kitchen is suitable for hand painting?

Most kitchen cupboards and base units are suitable for re-painting and older bespoke kitchens particularly lend themselves to re-painting but any kitchen cupboard finishes can also be painted.

Dark oak, stained and unstained pine, clear lacquered, waxed or varnished wood and even MDF and laminate surfaces are all suitable for hand-painting.

So if you like the layout of your kitchen, and it is functional, but you want a new look, we will deep clean your kitchen, prepare and prime it, and apply a hand painted finish in any colour of your choice.

Older bespoke kitchens are ideal candidates for refurbishment

If you have old bespoke hand painted kitchen furniture it tends to be very well made and the process of repainting is usually straight forward. We will check and replace hinges and drawer runners where necessay to make sure they open correctly. Handles and knobs can also be replaced to bring your refurbished kitchen right up to date.

What if some of the furniture needs to be replaced?

We can also assist with installing new furniture if necessary, working with skilled and experienced joiners, fitters and cabinet makers to advise and replace cabinets and worktops, as well as carrying out re-tiling if required.

Costs

If you are weighing up the cost of a new wooden kitchen, then why not compare it with the cost of a hand-painted refurbishment! An average lacquered oak or pine kitchen costs £1800 to £2520 to paint and turn it into a new kitchen. Pro rata, a large 35 door kitchen costs around £4200 to clean, sand, prime and finish to showroom condition. The savings when painting your current kitchen to show room standard, compared with the cost of a brand new kitchen from a show room is enormous – the bigger the kitchen, the bigger the saving!

Painting now can buy you time for later

If you have your heart set on a new kitchen but financially it’s still a few years away, then why not spend a relatively small amount to hand paint your existing kitchen and tide yourself over in style!

Dressing your kitchen for sale

If you are trying to sell your home but your kitchen is proving a major problem to buyers, our hand painting service can make all the difference, turning an obstacle into a potential sale.
